For those of you who like to tell a tall tale over a flagon or five, or perhaps recount an epic battle with your companions against a relentless foe, welcome to Tales From the Front. An open place for any to try their hand at caputring the reader's mind; to transport them for a time and bear witness to the things you've seen; to marvel and despair at your conquests and defeats. Be it a dragon that fell to your guild, hordes of groteseque greenskins and sinister dark elves assaulting your keep, or the sordid love story of a male orc and female high elf that went all pear shaped... all tales are welcome here. |

Much like the WoW section of this site specifically, ausMMO is chasing writers with ENGLISH grammar skills and a flair for writing interesting, funny and informative articles. It doesn't matter whether you want to write about a major questline that has just been fixed, the latest expansion in your game, a major server accomplishment, or some bullshit tactic the devs have just pulled...so long as it is informative, interesting and relates to the game you're writing about. If you're interested, hit up Spanka via the ausMMO forums or ausMMO memberlist. |

Well, having started the guild Bloody Convicts in Warhammer Online, playing to max level and getting in amongst the RVR content, I've got a fair idea about Warhammer Online. I figured I'd put up some thoughts about the game, so that anyone interested in it could get a bit of a handle on it BEFORE forking out some bucks. |

Well, I've never played WoW much, so it wouldn't make much sense for me to be writing articles and boring you with my laughable attempts, now would it? Of course not. So, if you're playing WoW and would like to write articles (Im sure there's a metric fuckton of stuff to write about with WoTLK out...) for ausMMO, please - drop me a line on the forums, MSN or whatever! |

Ok, so a while back, SoE introduced "Exchange" servers - servers specifically where people could buy and sell items & cash, just like real plat sellers do. This (IMO) was a good idea, as it was done on a separate server (ie: isolated from servers where you had to 'earn' your items & cash) and it catered to a need that was obviously quite large - gold selling & related trades. Please don't take that as an ENDORSEMENT of the industry, but if an industry exists, then its a desired service. Much like drugs or prostitution: it may be distasteful, but there's enough people that want it, else there wouldn't be people peddling it, now would there? But moving right along... |

Well, ausMMO started out as just a mega set of forums, but that's just not enough for most gamers these days. So I extended the functionality a bit with a new database & script engine to provide some more features.
The Resources & Guild Database currently has over 100 links & resources availble, including almost 20 comic strips to un-bore your day away. Everything from addons and modules to map sites, to database links and quest write ups. And the best bit? You can submit your links for approval and addition to the database. In fact, I'd REALLY dig it if you submitted your links. Your login details at the ausMMO Resources Database is the same as the forums HOWEVER: your username AND password are case sensitive, so "spanka" might work on the forums, but the resources will require "Spanka" - properly capitalised (or however you entered your username on the forums at registration). The resources database also features a calendar, which I hope will be used by ausMMO members to organise bbq's, nights out on the piss, LAN parties or open events. I dont know about you guys, but going out with non-gamers mildly sucks sometimes, because you generally can't really discuss your major hobby/past time: gaming! But nights out on the turps with gamers? Good times!
Lastly, the new script & database engine also features a live chat room, which members can use if logged in. There's still some tweaking that needs to be done, but it works and its a good place of contact if your MSN is acting up, or you want to chat with someone who cant run MSN at work (yes, it was specifically chosen so that corporate firewalls don't stop it like they stop MSN :P ).
So all in all, ausMMO's feature list is slowly and surely expanding to incorporte a lot of 'extra bits' that I feel will be functional and useful. If you've got any suggestions, swing by the forums and post em up. Maybe I'll do it, maybe I won't - but either way, you'll get an honest and straight forward answer as to my course of action, even if that is "Shit, I dunno how to do that!".
Game on.
